OUR VISION

OUR MISSION

OUR VALUES

For over three decades prior to embarking on our two Shlichuyot (missions), my wife and I dedicated ourselves to the field of education in Israel. I served as a school principal, while my wife worked as a Music and English coordinator across various institutions.

In May 1991, we received a call from the Jewish Agency for Israel, inviting us to undertake a Shlichut at the Phoenix Hebrew Academy. After careful contemplation, we arrived at a decision. We recognized that this mission would hold profound significance and value, positively influencing the lives of countless Jews and non-Jews in the Diaspora. Nevertheless, we acknowledged the challenge of leaving behind our family, friends, culture, language, and most importantly, our homeland – Israel. Yet, our faith in Hashem remained steadfast, reassured that all unfolds for a meaningful reason.

Following an unforgettable and rewarding three-year tenure at the Phoenix Hebrew Academy, we returned to Israel in 1994, filled with happiness and fulfillment. A decade later, the Jewish Agency for Israel extended another invitation to undertake a Shlichut at the Akiva Hebrew Day School, also known as the Farber Hebrew Day School, in Southfield, Michigan. This time, we possessed a clear understanding of the endeavor before us. Feeling more at ease, we accepted the request and departed Israel with our four younger children: Amizur, Naama, Emanuel, and Malachi. Our two elder sons, Adiel and Amichai, were enrolled at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh (KBY) and would soon be drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces as combat soldiers, precluding them from joining us at the time.

Upon arriving at these locations, we felt blessed, privileged, and most importantly, recognized our family's capacity to contribute, encourage, and leave a positive impact on the surrounding communities. However, the separation from our dear colleagues, friends, and families in Israel proved exceptionally arduous. In response, we conceived the notion of building this website to maintain a robust connection and keep our loved ones updated.

Lastly, we extend our profound gratitude to our friends and families – from Israel and around the world – for making this all possible. Our heartfelt thanks go to our dearest son, Amizur, for his invaluable assistance in creating and maintaining this website.

May we all be reunited in the holy city of Yerushalayim swiftly: "K'Ish Echad, B'Lev Echad" – "As One Man, With One Heart" – with health, faith, happiness, and love for one another.

With love,

Rabbi Meir & Mrs. Anat Nachshoni - הרב מאיר וענת נחשוני
